Liverpool are all over the European media on Thursday, but of course it’s not for transfer related stories. Jurgen Klopp guiding his team to a 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday is getting widespread coverage and praise.
L’Equipe, a French newspaper, even have it on their front page, despite it not having a great deal to do with French football.
Inside there’s much praise sent the way of Liverpool, Klopp, and several of the club’s players, but there’s also room for a little transfer snippet.
L’Equipe report AS Monaco’s Christian Koffi is ‘on the verge’ of joining Liverpool. The 17 year old’s contract expires on June 30th, and that means he’s free to join whoever he pleases at that point.
Koffi will ‘engage in the coming days’ with Liverpool, and L’Equipe sound like they very much expect a transfer to happen.
Transfermarkt lists the player as a midfielder or defensive midfielder, but L’Equipe compare his style to Sadio Mane, so it’ll be interesting to see how Koffi develops should the Liverpool move go through.
