While he was the ‘Why Always Me?’ man at Manchester City, where he enjoyed some good times under Roberto Mancini, Mario Balotelli’s time at Liverpool wasn’t the best.

The striker was signed by the Reds back in 2014 for £18m, but struggled to have any impact at Anfield during his time there, finding the back of the net just four times in 28 appearances.

He was swiftly sent on loan to Milan in 2015, before returning to England to move on a free to OGC Nice, where he rekindled his career a bit.

However, the arrival of Patrick Vieira put an end to that, and a six-month contract to Marseille was sorted out before he moved again on a free to his current club, Brescia.

On Thursday, he sat down with Corriere dello Sport for a lengthy interview where they asked him about his memories from the Premier League.

He said: “Great at City, bad at Liverpool where I didn’t click with the manager. The ball just wouldn’t go in. I lived through some very difficult days”.

All in all, Balotelli played 70 games in the Premier League for both Manchester City and Liverpool, during which he scored 21 goals and assisted his teammates three times.
