Journalist Alesandro Vocalelli has sat down for an interview with football agent Giovanni Branchini and it was published in today’s edition of Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

During the course of the interview, Branchini was asked about several players and while discussing about Nicolo Barella, he stressed the Cagliari midfielder reminds him of Paul Scholes.

The football agent believes the Italian international can join Scholes’ former club, Manchester United.

“Extraordinary player. He reminds me of Scholes. And I think he can go to Manchester United,” Branchini said.

It is to be noted that Branchini is not the 22-year-old’s agent and he is represented by Alessandro Beltrami, who also manages Inter Milan’s Radja Nainggolan.

Primarily a central midfielder, he can also operate as an attacking midfielder and has a contract with Cagliari until 2022.

The futures of Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera at Manchester United remain uncertain, with the latter in his final months of contract at Old Trafford.

Even if only one them ends up leaving the club in the summer, it is necessary for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to bring in a new midfielder in the next transfer window.
