It’s over. After a frenetic morning, Nottingham Forest are on the verge of making the big midfield signing they were going after.

That man is Ibrahim Sangaré, currently contract at PSV Eindhoven, and it took a lot of effort, and money, from the Tricky Trees to get it done.

Still, AD journalist Rik Elfrink brings the news everyone at Nottingham Forest was waiting for, and that’s the ‘confirmation’ that the Ivory Coast international will be heading to City Ground.

In fact, ‘flight tickets’ have already been ‘booked’ after the deal was agreed, but there remains the medicals to be done, which we can only assume will take place in England once the player has travelled to the Midlands.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been a huge part of PSV’s plans for the past three years following his transfer from Toulouse for €7m back in 2020.

He had a release clause of €37.5m in his contract with the Eredivisie side, which Nottingham Forest seem to have ended up taking advantage of.

They needed to convince the player of the move, and it appears they have now done that.
