Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Gonçalo Guedes has now recovered from his latest knee surgery, according to reports from Portugal.

Radio Renascença report that the winger, who returned to Benfica on loan in the summer, is available to play in the Eagles clash against RB Salzburg on Wednesday.

That’s the Lisbon side’s debut in this season’s Champions League, so it seems they’re quite confident Guedes can already perform at his best, despite the long time of recovery.

As recalled by Radio Renascença, the player has been sidelined for four months following knee injury at the end of last season.

During a long saga where Benfica and Wolves wouldn’t announce the loan renewal, it was even rumoured that he could end up in Spain, but the clubs ended up getting to a deal.

Guedes had already been loaned to the Portuguese side in January, and the sequence of injuries stopped him from having much of an impact in Lisbon.

With him recovered at the start of the season, that can only be good for Wolves to have better arguments for a sale next year.
