American outlet CBS Sports this week features an interview with Spanish winger Gerard Deulofeu, who’s been featuring for Udinese.

Despite being only 27, the player is full of stories of his career, which includes his years at the likes of Barcelona, Everton and Watford.

And it turns out that one of the most remarkable moments for him is a game he played for the Hornets three years ago.

Speaking about the 2019 FA Cup semi-final against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Wembley, the former Watford man is happy to recall the two goals scored by him in that game.

As pointed out by CBS Sports, the player’s eyes ‘shine’ when talking about that.

“That’s my favorite memory, for sure,” Deulofeu said.

“Playing at Wembley in that semifinal was unbelievable – this is the best memory. I still follow Watford, of course, I watch every match. We need to improve and push, hopefully with [Ismaïla] Sarr back, things will be better.”

Deulofeu joined Watford on a loan from Barcelona in January 2018, a move which was then made permanent the following summer.

In his time with the Hornets, he had 17 goals and 11 assists in 70 appearances for the club.

In 2020, he left the Vicarage Road to Udinese, another club from the Pozzo family. The move was initially done on loan, and became permanent in January 2021.
