Denis Suarez to Arsenal creeps forward. Slowly.

After getting over the initial shock of a big Premier League club pleading poverty, Barcelona seem to be being incredibly accommodating.

The player wants a transfer, wants the move to happen this month, and wants to go to Arsenal and play for Unai Emery. That somewhat restricts the options open to Barca.

They could just tell him he isn’t going anywhere, and Marca explain manager Ernesto Valverde would prefer that because he’s super cautious about what may happen if there’s a run of injuries for the rest of the season.

Instead, the Catalan club are playing nice.

Marca say ‘everything indicates’ there’ll be news on the player’s transfer to Arsenal in the coming days.

As has been stated before, the assumption is that a compromise will be found on a loan move with a compulsory purchase option.

It’s been suggested in Spain that the option will be less than the €20m reported in England, and also that Arsenal could get Denis for a cheaper fee if they’d agree to pay up now.
