Futbol Arena claim Trabzonspor are ready to start talks with Leeds United with regards to signing Caleb Ekuban on a permanent basis.

The 24-year old has been in impressive form for the Turkish club in recent weeks and it’s looking likely at this stage he’ll be remaining in the Super Lig beyond this season.

Ekuban stated this week he’s happy at Trabzonspor and yesterday a director at the club confirmed they can sign the forward on a permanent deal from Leeds United.

According to Futbol Arena, Trabzonspor officials will sit down with Leeds United next week to discuss Ekuban and they are also looking for the Championship side to lower the €1m redemption clause.

It seems the Ghanaian striker isn’t part of Marcelo Bielsa’s long term plans, but Leeds United officials may not be tempted to sell him for a reduced fee due to his recent displays.

The player is contract to the Elland Road until June 2021.
