Still trying to find his place at Crystal Palace, Matheus França is happy with how his first season at the club has been going.

While at Tottenham Hotspur for last weekend’s match, the midfielder spoke to ESPN Brasil and talked about his adaptation to the squad, saying he’s having more impact lately.

“More and more, all the time. I’m adapting with my teammates all the time. I’ve got a bit more chemistry now. And my good entries into the game, I won a penalty there, that was a good match. I always want to help the team. And when I can play good games like that, it’ll be great,” Matheus França told ESPN Brasil.

Asked about the arrival of Oliver Glasner, França claimed Crystal Palace’s squad likes the new coach, and they’re now adapting to his way of playing.

“Ah, very good impression. A very good coach. He’s changed a lot and everyone is adapting to him, to his style of play, and it’s been very good for us.”

Reporter João Castelo-Branco pointed out that França already gave some interviews in English, and the player talked about how important that is.

“Studying hard, improving my English. You have to speak English, you have to adapt to their language and culture here. It’s a bit difficult, but not so much now (laughs).”

Crystal Palace invested €20m on signing França from Flamengo last summer.

It took a few months for him to even get into match day squads, and then he began to have some minutes at the end of matches.

He’s been getting more and more chances lately, and it really seems this will be a season of transition for him. After all, he’s still 19 years old, and has a contract with the Eagles until 2028.
