Everton are ready to ‘monitor any offers’ that come in for Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer should they arrive.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the Toffees currently ‘wait at the window’ to see if anyone moves for the striker in the coming weeks.
We covered a report earlier this week that stated Calvert-Lewin had been offered to Roma this summer as they continue to look for a new striker for Jose Mourinho’s squad.
The report indicated that Calvert-Lewin was open to leaving Everton this summer in an attempt to reignite his career after an injury hit two seasons.
Corriere follow that up today and state that Calvert-Lewin is on the radar of the Italian club, albeit only a ‘special observer’ at this moment in time as they’re focused on Gianluca Scamacca.
They reiterate that he’s been ‘offered’ to Everton in the last few days and the Giallorossi have now put him under evaluation, looking at all aspects, including his physical condition.
The last part cannot be overlooked given he’s managed just 36 appearances in the last two years thanks to several muscular issues.
The Italians are not pressing to sign him at this moment in time, although he is very much an option being looked at, nonetheless.
They’re aware that Everton are open to a sale and will look at any offers that are made as they look to raise funds for their own transfer business.
It’s a situation to keep a close eye on, particularly if Roma cannot get a deal over the line for number one target Scamacca.
