Despite a quiet day we had on Tuesday, it now looks like James Rodriguez’s move from Everton to Al Rayaan is finally going forward.

The latest update from journalist Pipe Sierra now claims that, despite the chances for a loan deal, the midfielder is actually going to leave on a permanent transfer.

Earlier today, the Colombian reporter had already said Rodriguez has ‘given his approval’ to the move.

It’s said the Qatari side should announce the signing ‘in the coming hours’.

There are still no details on how much Al Rayyan are paying for the signing.

Back when journalist Cesar Luis Merlo said the Saudi side would spend €8m in the total operation, that was considered to be for a loan move, so perhaps the permanent transfer will be done with different terms.

Rodriguez has reportedly been in Qatar since Monday, as he needed to be convinced of playing in the Middle East.

If those reports are to be believed, it took the club three days to get a positive response.
