Ever since Everton’s Niels Nkounkou was sent on loan to AS Saint-Etienne after his deal with Cardiff was cut short, the defender has been in the headlines for all the right reasons.

While his first few games weren’t amazing, he has since become a great addition to the Ligue 2 side, which earned him a call up to France’s U21 squad over the course of the past international break.

Not only that, but the Everton loanee has managed to pick up the club’s Player of the Month award for March, according to Saint-Etienne’s website.

It wasn’t even close, either, as they reveal the Everton man picked up 71% of the votes, clearly impressing all those who watch the club regularly.

He scored a goal against Angers, which takes his tally to two goals and five assists in 10 league appearances for the Ligue 2 side since his arrival from Goodison Park.

Prior to that, he had only managed one assist in 18 appearances in the Championship with Cardiff.

There has been talk that the player could end up on Everton’s transfer list come the end of the season, but if he carries on like this, perhaps Sean Dyche will want to take a closer look at him.
