Everton are ‘interested’ in signing Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze, according to Cadena Ser’s El Larguero.

Having managed seven goals and three assists from 38 matches last campaign, the winger has a goal and two assists to his name from five games this season.

The La Liga side could look at Celta Vigo’s Denis Suárez as one of his successors, if the 23-year-old were to leave for Everton.

Journalist Xavi Sidro provided this information to El Larguero and took to Twitter to share more information on this case. He says the Merseyside club have tested the ground for the Nigeria international.

Sidro claims there may be negotiations, likely between the Yellow Submarine and Everton, for the player’s sale on Wednesday.

Chukwueze has two years left on his contract and it includes a €80m release clause. Unai Emery’s side could ‘sit down to negotiate’, possibly with the Toffees, over his potential sale for a lower price.

With the two clubs possibly set to hold discussions for the attacker today, there could be more updates on whether Everton may be able to sign Chukwueze before the window closes.
