Earlier this month, reports from Spain explained Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze was ‘very close’ to joining Everton  in January.

The winger failed to seal a move to the Merseyside club, who are still chasing him for the next window. On April 11th, Radio Marca’s Pedro Pablo Parrado said the Toffees have moved to sign him.

Friday’s Mundo Deportivo states Premier League sides are pressing to sign the 23-year-old.

The attacker has a deal expiring in 2024 and the La Liga side have already offered him an extension, which he hasn’t accepted so far. This has seen several English clubs, including Everton, take interest in his situation.

It’s further claimed the Nigeria international ‘could be thinking of changing’ clubs in the next window.

This, coupled with Chukwueze’s decision to reject Villarreal’s renewal offer, could come as encouragement for Sean Dyche’s side.

That’s because Mundo explain Everton are ‘going crazy’ to sign him in the summer.

Time will tell whether Everton will succeed in signing the Nigerian after a failed attempt in the last window.

Chukwueze has 13 goals and 11 assists from 41 matches this season.
