For the past week or so, there have been repeat claims in Italy about Everton wanting to sign Lazio’s Joaquín Correa.
Two days ago, Il Messaggero explained the Toffees have made an offer of €30m plus €4m in bonuses to acquire the forward’s services.
The 27-year-old hasn’t made a decision yet because Inter Milan, where his former manager Simone Inzaghi is in charge, also have him in the target list along with Marcus Thuram.
La Repubblica say Mino Raiola offered the Borussia Mönchengladbach player to the Serie A winners a week ago, while Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has resumed contacts with Correa’s agent with ‘great intensity’ from Thursday.
While talks were going on between the Argentine international’s representatives and the San Siro club, Everton accelerated their efforts to sign the player.
It’s once again stressed Rafael Benítez’s side are ‘ready to offer’ €30m plus bonuses to Lazio, and a four-year contract worth €5m per season to the South American.
La Repubblica believe these figures ‘could make a difference’, most likely for Everton to convince Correa to join them over Inter.
The attacker, however, ‘wants to know first’ whether or not Inter will make advances to sign him and then will ‘give a definitive answer’ to the Premier League side.
