Sporting Club de Portugal striker Chermiti could be presented by Everton this afternoon as they rush to finalise the deal for him.

That’s according to Record, who say the Toffees have pushed through with a deal for the youngster to ensure they got him ahead of Bournemouth and Wolves.

The newspaper reports that Chermiti’s transfer to Everton will be confirmed today and the possibility of him being presented later this afternoon is not off the table either.

He is currently in England on Merseyside for medical examinations, which are expected to be concluded in the morning ahead of him signing a five-year deal at Goodison Park.

A Bola back this up, stating that the deal should be made official today once he’s done the usual medical and various tests.

Record explain that Everton have decided to bet on the young striker after watching him several times last season and given he was starting to arouse interest from Wolves and Bournemouth, those responsible at the club decided to ‘get ahead of the competition’.

They’re paying €15m which could rise to €20m and after an initial back and forth with the player, who rejected the first offer presented to him, have now convinced him as well.

Chermiti was more than happy to stay at Sporting, where he feels he has progressed a lot in the last six months and would have even happily postponed moving to the Premier League, but the numbers presented to him by Everton ‘ended up speaking louder’ and he is now set to finalise his switch.
