Following initial claims from England claiming Manchester United only want Donny van de Beek to leave on a permanent move, the Spanish press now reacts to that.

Real Sociedad have been interested in the midfielder, and Mundo Deportivo claim that the La Liga side would need other conditions to get that deal done.

It’s said the Spanish club don’t want to make big financial commitments right now, and their idea was to sign van de Beek from Manchester United on a loan with an option to buy.

The Red Devils, however, would only let the player move on a loan spell if the purchase clause was obligatory.

Negotiations between the clubs are said to be ‘underway’, as Real Sociedad know they won’t have an easy job convincing the Premier League club.

The club’s football director Roberto Olabe was seen on Sunday at Loiu airport going to an ‘unknown’ European destination, so it’s clear they’re working on big arrivals.

The story points out that it’s now ‘clear’ that Van de Beek has recovered from his knee injury, so that may give Real Sociedad about his signing.
