Hannibal Mejbri returned to Manchester United after a successful loan spell at Birmingham City last season.

The midfielder hasn’t yet cemented a place at Old Trafford this season and has managed only nine appearances, scoring a goal in the process. He’s been restricted to 95 minutes of game time [from five matches] in the last two months.

A move away from Manchester United, at least on loan, could help him enjoy regular minutes.

Radio Mosaïque FM journalist Ahmed Adala took to X, formerly Twitter, to state Erik ten Hag ‘blocks’ the 20-year-old from going out on loan in the winter market.

Adala doesn’t mention any clubs that came forward to sign the Tunisia international on loan but that wouldn’t matter since the manager wants to retain him at Old Trafford.

Injuries to Casemiro and Mason Mount have convinced Ten Hag to retain him. The Brazilian has been sidelined since October’s international break and is yet to return to action.

The former Chelsea man, who also missed the start of the season with an injury, has been out of action with a hamstring injury since November.

Casemiro and Mount are expected to be available for selection later this month. Despite this, the Tunisian journalist claims Ten Hag still wants to have Mejbri at his disposal.
