Aston Villa have been linked with a few La Liga players since Unai Emery replaced Steven Gerrard at Villa Park earlier this season.

Real Madrid’s Nacho has been identified as one of the targets. On November 16th, Sport reported the Villans manager has not let the defender get out of his sights after failing to sign him for his former club, Villarreal.

Aston Villa continue to keep tabs on the 32-year-old’s situation at the Bernabéu, as per Mundo Deportivo.

The Spaniard is out of contract next summer and there is a renewal offer from the La Liga winners, which he hasn’t yet agreed to. That’s because he is not clear about continuing at the club due to lack of game time this season.

Emery’s side are ‘very attentive’ to the centre-back since there is a possibility for him to change clubs in January. Aston Villa’s interest in Nacho is not accidental because the ex-Arsenal coach has ‘always liked’ his compatriot.

Nacho has a decision to make on his future. If he wants to leave, Real Madrid will not give him ‘much trouble’ and this would please Emery and Aston Villa in their pursuit to sign Los Blancos’ versatile defender.
