This weekend, as reported by the Paraguayan media, Arsenal sent a scout to watch two targets in the match between Cerro Porteño and Libertad.

It was claimed the Gunners had an official working for the club, sent to keep an eye on the performances of Alexis Duarte and Julio Enciso, one from each team, ahead of potential summer transfers.

Since Arsenal’s visit made a big noise in the local press, there were obviously other players trying to get attention from the scout. And we get to see a hint of it in an Instagram post made by Cerro Porteño winger Sergio Diaz.

The 24-year-old uploaded a picture of himself wearing a Gunners’ shirt and wrote ‘A kid’s dream 😍😁👀 ‘, before the match against Libertad.

That was posted hours before Cerro Porteño’s 4-0 win, where Diaz had a good performance and scored one of the goals.

So in case he was focused on drawing the attention of Arsenal’s scout, perhaps he did do so, one way or the other, and may now join the list which already included Duarte and Enciso.
