Hajduk Split’s deputy sports director Sasa Bjelanovic has told the Italian media he wanted Ivan Perisic’s move to Manchester United to happen, as the Croatian club would have received a percentage of the fee.
Perisic was linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the last window, but the Premier League side refused to meet Inter Milan’s asking price.
FC Inter News have reported on comments Bjelanovic made to Sky Italia when he spoke about Perisic’s proposed summer move to Old Trafford in the summer: “We’re proud of him playing for Inter, but in the summer we have hoped that Manchester United would take him.
“An international transfer would guarantee us the percentage of the transfer fee, and a few extra euros would make it convenient for a club like ours who doesn’t have many resources.”
Perisic was one of Joes Mourinho’s key targets during the last window, and despite weeks of speculation of a move to Manchester United the Croatia international eventually stayed at Inter Milan.
Even though Perisic didn’t arrive at Old Trafford it’s fair to say Mourinho hasn’t had any problems in the wide areas, with both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial impressing so far in the current campaign.
