Marcelo Flores may not even have made his debut for Arsenal’s first team yet, but the attention he gets in Mexico continues to be impressive.
Following all the saga regarding the national team he’d choose to play for, he’s soon expected to receive his first cap for the Tri, and that’s getting many comments from the local media.
So as Mexican star Tecatito Corona this week spoke to Fox Sports, he was asked about Flores, and talked about what he knows about the Arsenal youngster.
“I know him little, but what I’ve seen is different, he has things, hopefully he can add to the team,” said Corona (via Medio Tiempo).
Other reports in Mexico say Flores will miss the U20 World Cup qualifiers this year. The reason for that is he shall be used by the first team in the Nations League, and won’t have time to play with the youngsters.
This will be the first time he’ll join the first team squad for an international tournament, and he’s set to have little time off before joining Arsenal for pre-season.
Medio Tiempo even points out he could be loaned by the Gunners to have more minutes in English football.
