Back in early July, there was a bit of confusion regarding Watford and their alleged acquisition of Al Warren Tameghi.

Then at Bordeaux, the defensive midfielder was yet to sign his first professional contract, and Formation Girondins claimed the player had put pen to paper with the Premier League side at Vicarage Road.

They went as far as wishing him luck in continuing his development on the other side of the Channel, but that never happened.

At least, that’s what Loïc Tanzi is reporting on Tuesday, claiming the player has now signed with Troyes for a year in Ligue 2 after his ‘aborted transfer to Watford this summer’.

We’ll now have to wait and see if this is a missed opportunity for the Hornets, who might have let a great future player slip through their fingers, but only time will tell.

In the meantime, the Premier League side will try and turn their season around under newly appointed Quique Sánchez Flores as they currently sit bottom of the table with three points from their first eight games.
