Having failed in their attempts to convince Nicolo Zaniolo to sign, AFC Bournemouth could have decided to never talk to AS Roma again, but their need for their left-back has led them to trying to bring in Matías Viña.

The latest on the matter this morning was that there were some complications in getting a deal done, but it appears that Leeds United agreeing to send Diego Llorente to the Serie A side has changed matters.

This comes from Calciomercato, who state the deal for the Spaniard has ‘unblocked’ the exit of Viña to Bournemouth.

This is backed up by Sky Sport, relayed by Roma Giallorossa, who explain the left-back ‘will go’ to Bournemouth.

It’s stated there was already an agreement ‘had already been found’ between the Premier League side and the Uruguay international, with the deal being a paid loan of €1m and the right of redemption set at €15m.

Therefore, the defender ‘says goodbye’ to AS Roma ‘just a year and a half’ after he arrived for €13m, meaning that the Serie A side could potentially make a small profit on him if Bournemouth do trigger that clause.
