Crystal Palace’s links with Gabriel Barbosa have been quiet for a while, with the Brazilian and Italian media not mentioning the London club in the past couple of weeks.
But it comes back with full force now, as website FC Inter News reports there’s a bid from the Premier League side for the striker.
They say Crystal Palace are putting £20m on the table to sign the Brazilian, and offering him wages of £4m, in a contract which would run until 2024.
Flamengo, who currently have Gabigol on a loan spell from Inter Milan, are working hard to make his stay in Rio de Janeiro permanent.
It’s said the Brazilian side are currently offering €22m, giving Inter 20% of a future sale. The wages on the table are R$5m per year, which is about €1m.
FC Inter News doesn’t say anything about Inter Milan’s stance on this, claiming that this is more of a decision for Gabigol to make. He can stay at Flamengo, where he’s close to winning the league and is playing the Copa Libertadores final on Saturday, or have a new shot at European football.
