In the past couple of months, many reports from the Italian media claimed that Crystal Palace were interested in signing Perr Schuurs from Torino.

Those same reports, however, claimed the Eagles would need a ‘very heavy, indecent’ offer to convince the Serie A side to sell him.

That may be the reason why, according to Toro.it today, Crystal Palace are actually giving up on the idea of signing Schuurs this summer.

It’s claimed that the ‘strong pressure’ built by the Eagles for the signing has ‘dropped drastically to a real stalemate’.

Not only Crystal Palace, but also Liverpool, who were also said to be interested, are now claimed to be giving up on their pursuit.

Torino should now be about resisting the English threat, and have the player getting ready to play for them for one more season.

Schuurs is valued by Transfermarkt at €25m, and reports had been claiming that the Italian club wanted €40m to let him move this summer. And if Crystal Palace were hoping for a discount, that apparently didn’t happen.
