The injury to Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik is a real shame. Having sold Gonzalo Higuain, and replaced him with Milik, Napoli must have been understandably smug in their reflection as Milik, just 22 years of age, started his Serie A career in great form.

Having suffered a cruciate ligament injury, it’s been reported in Italy Milik could be back in a few months, although that may require a medical miracle. Whether it’s 3 months, 6 months, or even longer, Napoli may well look to add to their options upfront.

Spanish newspaper Sport have come out in sympathy for Napoli and so compiled a list of possible signings. That’s where Nottingham Forest striker Nicklas Bendtner comes in.

Screen Shot 2016-10-11 at 13.54.48Sport say Napoli would be looking for a free agent who once had a good reputation, and put Bendtner forward, whilst acknowledging he isn’t a free agent, and hasn’t got the best reputation.

It’s a puzzling one, Bendtner’s time in Italy with Juventus was pretty much a mess. He’s also not setting the Championship on fire just yet, but Sport say Nottingham Forest wouldn’t stand in his way.

However, even if they released him from his contract, rules state that he couldn’t be signed outside of a window anyway. Maybe Sport don’t know.
