There’s been no big Alvaro Morata interviews published so far this international break, and perhaps there won’t be, given how much his words were twisted when he spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport recently.

Chelsea’s top striker, who has settled well in the Premier League, had explained he was living in central London, and may have to move eventually because of how crazy it is. Morata was clearly referring to a move outwards, outside central London, rather than wanting to leave Chelsea already, but there were more hits to be had elsewhere.

Morata’s quotes were chopped, stretched and in some cases completely fabricated to suggest he wanted out of Chelsea, and he ended up having to address it during a press conference, where the blame was somehow edged his way, and that of Gazzetta, for the English media twisting what he’d said.

Nevertheless, it may have encouraged some transfer rumours, and Marca provide one on Tuesday. Edinson Cavani will leave PSG in the summer, state the Spanish newspaper, so the French club are looking for a new striker to accompany Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

PSG’s ‘leaders are clear, the successor of Cavani has to be Alvaro Morata’, say Marca. In that respect, both the player and his agents have been made aware of PSG”s interest.

Such a move would be a huge surprise, but perhaps Alvaro would like to swap the crazy streets of London for the gentile backwater of Paris.
