Three Portuguese newspapers are reporting Tottenham Hotspur’s chase for Adrien Silva this morning. All of them agreeing that the transfer is getting closer to being done.

The Portuguese side were already planning to make some important sales this window. And from all their players who were at the Confederations Cup, it’s the midfielder reportedly closest to the exit door.

O Jogo says Tottenham made a first offer of €20m, but Sporting made it clear they are demanding €30m, as they promised Silva he can leave for that amount. A Bola has a different information, saying the last bid is of €25m plus €5m in bonuses, but the Portuguese side want all the €30m up front.

Jornal de Notícias sounds a bit more optimistic, saying it’s Sporting who are just trying to raise Tottenham’s bid from €25m to €30m, making it sound like the first offer was already good enough.

They also claim the player has already accepted the Tottenham move, so it’s just a matter of finding an agreement between the clubs now.

The Portuguese papers may be a bit sloppy sometimes, but when they all start agreeing that something will happen, that’s often because things are getting serious.

We\re still not entirely convinced on this one, though.
