Sent to Monaco on loan with Youri Tielemans going the other way to Leicester City, Adrien Silva has done well in France.

We already covered that earlier this month, as L’Equipe explained the midfielder was impressing ‘on and off the pitch’ at the principality club, which was good news for the Foxes.

Their desire to keep Tielemans at King Power Stadium beyond this season is hardly a secret, and we suggested the Portuguese loanee could help reduce the Belgian’s price if he was included in the deal.

Well, according to the same newspaper on Friday, things are heading in that direction, as Monaco’s ‘idea’ is to ‘keep him’, and to ‘leave’ the Belgium international with Leicester, where he is enjoying himself and developing.

This is all despite Silva having what is described as a ‘colossal salary’.

At no point is there talk of permanent transfers for either one, but that would be the logical step to go for both, especially as it would also allow Monaco a chance to renegotiate the Portuguese’s wages, perhaps convincing him to take some kind of pay cut with promise of regular first-team football to compensate.
