Barcelona have ‘sounded out’ Mohamed Salah about a move to the Camp Nou this summer should he leave Liverpool.

That’s what Sport say but they also insist the Catalans are yet to present any kind of offer to the Egyptian star.

Salah is out of contract at Anfield next summer, and despite months of negotiations, Liverpool have been unable to tie him down to a new deal.

It means they could be forced to sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free, and that has alerted some of the big teams in Europe.

Reports in Spain have put Barcelona firmly in the mix for his signature, stating that they could move for Salah as an alternative to Erling Haaland and see him as something of a franchise player.

That particular rumour has been building for the past few weeks, but Sport pour a little bit of cold water on it today.

They state that while Barcelona have ‘sounded out’ Salah about a move, they are yet to present ‘any kind of offer’ to him as the operation is ‘very complicated’.

They are fully aware about what the Egyptian wants in terms of a contract and know that Liverpool’s position at this moment in time is that they don’t want to sell.

In fact, Jurgen Klopp and co do not even ‘want to negotiate a transfer’ for the time being, although that stance will change if Salah continues to refuse their efforts to get a new contract signed.

A big issue is the sudden emergence of PSG as suitors, with the French giants ‘presenting an unattainable offer’ to the Liverpool star.

That is ‘complicating everything’ as PSG have been in contact with Salah’s agent and made a ‘firm proposal’ to him.

They believe he would be the ideal replacement for Kylian Mbappé and will ‘spare no expense’ to get him should the Frenchman leave as expected.

They can present a ‘millionaire transfer offer’ to Liverpool and a salary to Salah that would be ‘unattainable’ for Barcelona.

It all depends on the player, and whether he decides to leave Anfield and if he does, Barcelona would be keen, although not enough to match what PSG are willing to spend.
