Willian’s departure from Arsenal is expected to be announced today.

According to ESPN Brasil, the last details of his contract termination were sorted on Sunday, and following a statement expected on Monday, he’ll be ready to move to his childhood club Corinthians.

It’s claimed that Gunners waited until the end of Sunday to see if the player would have any offers from European clubs. Since nothing happened, they agreed to put an end to his deal.

Corinthians fans are very anxious for their club’s announcement, but according to ESPN, it’s first Arsenal who will publicly communicate his exit. That’s because of the ‘financial relief’ the Gunners are getting from his departure.

Willian is then expected to have a farewell from the London side and only then Corinthians will reveal his two-year contract.

Still on Sunday, TNT Sports reported that Milan made an approach for Willian’s signing. The Italian side had been speaking to him ‘for a few days’ and were interested, but apparently never made an official offer.

With the Brazilian transfer window closing on Monday, it was time for the winger to take a decision, and it seems he’s really on his way to his old club in Brazil.
