Following the arrival of Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr, stories have slowly started to emerge about Antonio Rüdiger potentially exiting Chelsea before the end of the window.

The German centre-back, who arrived from AS Roma back in 2017, has yet to feature in a game under Frank Lampard this season, and at 27 years of age, first-team football is something of a necessity.

Rumours of a return to Italy appeared on Wednesday and Thursday, with a move to his former club discussed, but it appears Paris Saint-Germain are also an option.

This comes from RMC Sport in France, who explain the Ligue 1 side are still prospecting on the transfer market, and with a need of a bit more depth at the back following the departure of Thiago Silva, their attention has turned to Rüdiger.

It stems from Thomas Tuchel, who appreciates his compatriot, and Paris Saint-Germain have ‘tried a loan with a view to buy’.

Unfortunately for them, Chelsea ‘are hoping for a definitive transfer for now’, but negotiations are ongoing, suggesting there could be light at the end of the tunnel for the German defender after all.

It seems the Blues will first try to get money now from the 27-year-old, but if they can’t find any takers come the beginning of October, they are likely to start thinking that a loan with potential funds down the line might not be such a bad deal after all.
