Sevilla are in negotiations with West Ham United over a deal for Pablo Fornals, with a belief the player could already have an agreement in place with the Spanish side.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say Sevilla’s poor start to the season ‘could speed up the operation’ as they seek reinforcements.

The newspaper reports that Sevilla are ‘trying to sign’ Fornals, with director of football Victor Orta intending to use part of the €21m received from the sale of Bono to Al-Hilal on strengthening the club’s midfield options.

That area of the team is the one in need of reinforcement and after the arrival of Djibril Sow, Orta wants to add ‘more rhythm’ to the side via a more creative player.

The West Ham man is seen as an option to do and Mundo speculate that he could already have an agreement in place with Sevilla, waiting for a deal to be struck between the two clubs.

They believe that the Spaniard could be valued at around €8.5m by West Ham, a figure Sevilla could afford given the income secured from the sale of Bono.

Indeed, MD’s belief is that they could now ‘speed up the negotiations’ in an effort to bounce back from a poor start to the season in which they’ve lost both of their opening games.
