After having agreed a transfer for Roméo Lavia to Chelsea, Southampton are now being faced with the prospect of also losing Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The forward arrived at St Mary’s last January in hope he could help the Saints avoid relegation, but that simply wasn’t to be, as Ruben Selles’ side melted at the bottom of the table and headed down to the second tier.

Much like those around them, Southampton have been trying to offload players who don’t want to be there, and AS Monaco may have given them the perfect opportunity to sell Sulemana, according to Sports World Ghana.

They claim as an exclusive that the principality side have ‘tabled €25m’ to bring the 21-year-old back to Ligue 1 after he first made a name for himself there at Rennes.

That figure so happens to be the exact same Southampton paid for him in the first place, meaning this would be ideal for their bank account six months, 18 appearances, two goals and an assist later.

Should this go through, this would be the second deal the two sides agree on this summer, after Monaco bought Mohammed Salisu earlier on in the window.

Following the €25m bid, it’s said that ‘the two clubs have engaged directly for the transfer of the player’, suggesting this is an offer Southampton are interested in.
