As Ferland Mendy is expected to be a Real Madrid player in the coming days, Lyon have gone on the hunt for a new left-back, with Lucas Digne reportedly on their list.
On top of the Everton defender, another man has been highlighted as a potential replacement for the France international: Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.
The news comes from Soccer Link, formerly Euro United (once affiliated to Paris United), who explain Lyon’s recruitment cell have been keeping tabs on the Scottish full-back for the past three years.
The Celtic starlet’s agents have already been contacted, according to the website, to the point where ‘official discussions’ have begun.
Arsenal are also believed to be looking at the player, putting Tierney on their summer list, but it appears Lyon are the ones who have taken an active step in trying to recruit the Scotland international this summer.
Missing a chunk of the season because of a hip injury, the Celtic defender still managed to feature in 40 games under both Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon in all competitions, scoring one goal and helping out with six assists.
