West Ham were repeatedly linked with a move for Gaëtan Laborde during the January transfer window, with Montpellier going public about the Hammers making contact with the striker’s representatives.
Towards the end of the winter market it was reported the Premier League club had been sent an ultimatum over the deal and were told not to leave things until deadline day.
Ultimately a move didn’t happen, with there seeming some hesitation at West Ham over what they really wanted to push for.
Inevitably, as the summer window approached there were further claims from France about a potential move to London for Laborde, and those are continuing as the current window edges closer to closing.
L’Equipe report Montpellier again going public, saying things are ‘moving forward’ for the player’s exit. Only two clubs have been named, and of course West Ham are one of those.The other option is Sevilla, although that looks less likely given they’ve just completed a move to sign Rafa Mir from Wolves.
