Pierre-Michel Lasogga to Leeds United rebuilt in Germany over the past day or so, with the English media then catching up.

Hamburg announced that Lasogga had been allowed to travel to Leeds for a couple of days to get an idea of the transfer and whether he wanted it. That seemed strange, given that Lasogga had already done exactly that not so long ago.

Then, after the striker’s first trip, the reason for a transfer not going anywhere was said to be Chris Wood, with Lasogga not sure he wanted to battle with the New Zealander. Wood moving to Burnley obviously changed all of that, so there’s really no need for another look at Leeds.

German magazine Kicker claimed the trip was actually to ‘advance’ a transfer, rather than have a look around, and that seemed to make more sense.

Tuesday’s edition of Hamburger Abendblatt again makes the loan switch sound possible, with Hamburg making it clear the transfer is ‘still open’.

Leeds and Hamburg are yet to find a complete agreement, but that shouldn’t be as difficult as some expect, as long as there’s genuine will on both sides.
