On the bench against Brentford, Manchester United’s Anthony Martial did not feature, and stayed warm and cosy in his seat for the entire 90 minutes.

There has been a bit of controversy surrounding his future at Old Trafford, with his agent making it clear his client wanted out, before Ralf Rangnick claimed the player had refused to play against Aston Villa.

The Frenchman refuted that, stating he would never do such a thing, and the manager and player apparently patched things up before the Brentford game.

What remains apparent, however, is that the striker would rather end the season elsewhere, with Sevilla one of the clubs willing to give him a new chance for the second half of the campaign.

Foot Mercato claim on Friday that, ‘according to information close to the Manchester United board’, the La Liga side ‘have returned and seem ready to try their luck again’.

They then remind their readers that the Premier League side ‘are open to a loan, but only with the entirety of Martial’s wages being taken on, meaning €1.3m/month’.
