Arsenal man Mohamed Elneny is a transfer target for Besiktas, according to Turkish website Asist Analiz.

The Super Lig side are likely to be in the market for a midfielder with Gary Medel nearing a move to Serie A side Bologna, and Asist Analiz claim Elneny is an option to replace the Chilean with just days left of the Turkish transfer window.

Arsenal’s Egyptian midfielder has been told to find a new club by Unai Emery, with the Spaniard using the likes of Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock ahead of him in the opening three games of the season.

The Istanbul club’s manager Abdullah Avci wants to sign a midfielder who will be ready to contribute straight away.

Besiktas have also been linked with a move for Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina and AS Roma’s Maxime Gonalons.

Elneny made 17 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season and is under contract with Gunners until June 2022.

However, with the Egypt international down the pecking order at the Emirates he may need to move on before the European windows close next week.
