On Tuesday morning, O Jogo claimed Sporting had made initial contacts to get Mikkel Damsgaard signed from Brentford.

The rumour got bigger when TuttoMercatoWeb featured a story claiming the player is ‘one step away’ from making the move, as he’d join the Lions on a loan deal.

Now as Record bring their take on the situation, they claim the rumour is simply false.

The newspaper today features a story claiming a winger is indeed Sporting’s priority at the end of the window, with the club running against the clock to give that to manager Ruben Amorim.

Still, they claim that despite the stories about Damsgaard, the Brentford player is not in the Lions’ plans.

The outlet even points out that the Bees consider the Danish player to be ‘negotiable’, but that’s apparently not enough to draw Sporting’s interest.

This all makes a strange situation, especially because TuttoMercatoWeb’s claims are very much highlighted by newspaper O Jogo today. In a few hours, we should see who is right.
