OGC Nice are carrying talks for the signing of Ricardo Pereira from Leicester City, according to reports.

French outlet Foot Mercato is one of those writing about the negotiations, claiming talks got more intense in recent days.

It’s claimed that despite having a contract with Leicester City until 2026, Pereira is ‘clearly pushed towards the exit’ at the club.

Nice’s idea is apparently to sign the fullback on a loan, and the player is said to be ‘excited’ to join the club where he played between 2015 and 2017.

Foot Mercato refers to Pereira as a ‘safe bet’ for the French club, even though there are no details on how this agreement with Leicester City would be outlined.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese media backs up the talks.

Mais Futebol writes that Nice already sent Leicester City their offer for a loan deal, and there’s a ‘concrete possibility’ the agreement will happen.

For now, there isn’t any information about the French side having a potential buying option in this agreement, so even if gone now, Ricardo Pereira could be back with the Foxes next year, perhaps in a return to the Premier League.
