In the summer window. West Ham United’s Nikola Vlašić joined Torino on a loan deal with an option to buy set at €15m.

For the past few weeks, there have been multiple claims indicating the Serie A side plan to retain the 25-year-old beyond this season.

On December 13th, La Stampa reported Torino are in a ‘hurry’ to buy the West Ham owned man and their chief, Davide Vagnati, made a trip to England to hold talks with the Hammers.

The Croatia international made six appearances at the World Cup. His displays in Qatar and also for the Turin club this season indicates the €15m fee needed to buy the player ‘could be a bargain from all points of view’ for Torino.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who explain Vagnati and Torino chairman Urbano Cairo will still try to get a discount from West Ham. Vlašić has repeated several times he is happy in Turin and wants the operation to take shape.

The report points this out and further adds the Croatian himself pushed to join Torino to play under Ivan Jurić’s orders in the last window and hasn’t regretted this decision.

With Torino now wanting a discount, it now remains to be seen whether David Moyes’ side will offer one or stand firm in demanding the €15m figure they had agreed upon earlier.
