VfB Stuttgart are eyeing up Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna as a replacement for Sebastian Hoeneß should he leave in the summer.

That’s according to BILD, who say Stuttgart director of football Fabian Wohlgemuth has the Ipswich boss on his list.

Hoeneß is one of the rising managerial talents in Germany, having led Stuttgart to third in the table this season and just four points behind Bayern Munich in second.

It’s been an impressive turnaround for the club given they finished 16th in the table last season with just 33 points from 34 games, a tally they’ve already bettered by 17 points in ten fewer games this season.

Hoeneß has been given credit for the rise and has found himself on the potential list of replacements for Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, especially given his links to former Bayern president Uli Hoeneß.

At this moment he is very much an outsider contender, with the focus very much on Xabi Alonso seemingly the man in focus at the Allianz Arena.

Still, Stuttgart may find themselves in search of a new manager in the summer and BILD report Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna is on the list alongside Fabian Hürzeler at St Pauli.

He’s also been working wonders this season, leading Ipswich to second in the Championship this season after guiding them up from League One last season.

He’s very much one of the rising managerial talents in England and it seems that’s been noticed in Germany, where Wohlgemuth is apparently a fan and keeping track of him. F
