Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro have ‘intensified’ talks for Chelsea midfielder Nathan, according to reports today.
UOL says that after having the player on a one-year loan spell from the Blues, the club are now willing to sign a one-year extension with him, keeping the 23-year-old until December 2020.
It’s claimed that an Atlético official met Nathan’s staff after Christmas, and has shown their will to have him for at least one more season.
Nathan’s contract with Chelsea officially expires next summer, so the Blues either accept to let him go for good now, or they would need an extension before loaning him out once again.
Signed by the Stamford Bridge side back in 2015, the midfielder has never made an appearance for the club, and has been on several loan spells.
