Arsenal have become the latest club to join Newcastle United and Juventus in the race for Real Valladolid defender Iván Fresneda.

The right-back has impressed for the La Liga side since he was promoted to the first team at the start of this season.

For the past few weeks, reports coming out of Italy have stressed about the Serie A side’s interest to sign him.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Old Lady would be able to strengthen their wing-back position if they manage to raise funds in January.

Fresneda remains one of their key targets, even though the ‘competition is strong’ from Arsenal, Newcastle and a few Spanish clubs.

The two Premier League sides wanting the 18-year-old is also reported by Calciomercato journalist, Daniele Longo.

He claims both the Gunners and Eddie Howe’s side are in the ‘running’ to sign the Spain U19 international, who is valued at €15m by Valladolid.

Longo adds that Juventus are expected to make contact with Fresneda’s agent on Tuesday, seemingly to get ahead of the competition from Arsenal and Newcastle if possible.

With several clubs showing interest in the player, Valladolid would be hoping for an auction in the winter market.
