While there are transfers happening around Europe on a daily basis, most of the press have put everything on hold to focus on the Lionel Messi saga.

We won’t bore you with all the details because they’re everywhere, especially when it comes to the Argentine’s potential move to Manchester City, but there are other clubs who are interested.

One of those is Paris Saint-Germain, who certainly have the money to make such a move happen, but, even if they did manage to somehow convince Barcelona to let him go, getting the player’s agreement is complicated in itself.

We say this because L’Equipe on Friday are reporting Leonardo, the French side’s technical director, picked up the phone to call Messi’s father, who also happens to be his agent.

It’s said the chat was there to find out about the player’s situation and share PSG’s interest should an exit happen.

L’Equipe then point out that while Jorge Messi politely took the call from the Brazilian, ‘his son appears to have chosen to sign with Manchester City’.

This is all according to their own information.

It’s a short and sweet article from them, but it tells you everything you need to know.

It seems that if Messi does leave Barcelona, and it remains an if for now, he’ll go to the Etihad and team up with Pep Guardiola once again.
