FotoSpor have reported Trabzonspor are confident they can sign Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa because of his friendship with Ogenyi Onazi.

The pair have been close friends since their early days at Karadeniz Firtinasi and the Turkish club are hoping the friendship could play a decisive role in landing the Leicester City attacker.

The former CSKA Moscow striker joined Leicester City last summer, but had a disappointing debut season with the Foxes. Musa’s playing time decreased under Craig Shakespeare, and as a result he could move on this summer.

The club’s president Muharrem Usta has spoken with Trabzonspor’s Onzai about Musa: “I talked with Musa. He asked me about my life in Trabzon. I told him about the facilities and the fans. He told me ‘It could be nice to play with you at Trabzon.’ I think we could try to get him.”

Given Musa joined Leicester City for €20m just a year ago, it’s likely Trabzonspor are only thinking about a loan deal for the player.

It’s been reported Fenerbahçe are also in the hunt for Musa as their manager Aykut Kocaman believes his pace and direct style of play could help his team next season.
