Fortuna Dusseldorf sports director Christian Weber has insisted they have not made a decision on the future of Watford youngster Kwadwo Baah, despite his disastrous season at the club.

He’s been speaking to Express in Germany as he gears up for a busy summer transfer window at the end of the season.

One of the decisions he will have to make will be over the future of Baah, who has been on loan from Watford since the summer.

That deal includes an option for the German side to buy him on a permanent basis in the summer but whether they will do so is highly debatable.

That’s because Baah has failed to make any impression since arriving from Watford, featuring in just 3% of the available minutes in the league and making seven appearances in the 2. Bundesliga.

Several reports from Germany have made it clear that Fortuna are less than happy with the player, and it was even suggested they would cut his loan deal short and send him back to Watford in January.

That never happened and Weber has now surprisingly left the door open to a permanent move, insisting that no decision has been made on the 20-year-old.

“Unfortunately, with Kwadwo it is the case that he has not yet been able to bring what we had hoped for to the pitch. There is a trend, but no decision has been made yet,” he said.
