Tuesday May 7th became Ayoze Perez day in Italy, with a number of outlets churning out their exclusives regarding the interest of both Inter and Napoli in the Newcastle forward.

Making it clear he would be rather keen on a new adventure if the opportunity presented itself, the 25-year-old has shown his suitors, now said to include Arsenal, exactly what he can do over the past few weeks, scoring five goals in his last four games for the Magpies.

Regarding Inter’s interest in Perez, Corriere dello Sport were the ones to bring it to the fore yesterday, explaining the Spaniard was the club’s ‘new idea’ to bolster their attack, but they would have to wait and see what the future held for certain members of their current squad before making any kind of move.

Well, FC Inter News in Italy seem to think the Newcastle United man might not be that ‘new’ of an idea, since they claim, according to their sources in Spain, that Piero Ausilio, the club’s technical director, contacted the forward’s agent ‘two months ago’.

It wasn’t anything concrete, just the standard enquiry to find out how much he would cost and whether he would be interested kind of call, but, if true, it does show that they are in fact interested in him.

On top of this, the website add any eye needs to be kept on both Arsenal and Tottenham, as the London pair could also be interested in Perez this window.

Tottenham have been linked previously, but Arsenal haven’t been in previous reports, so perhaps Unai Emery has seen something he likes.

With just one game to go in Newcastle’s season, the former Spain U21 international has scored 12 goals and assisted teammates four times in 40 appearances so far, with an away game to already relegated Fulham coming up to finish the campaign.
